DRIVING
THROUGH
SUSTAINABILITY

With the installment of our first EV Charging Station, we will encourage more than 10,000 workers into sustainable mobility, helping the business center reduce harmful emissions while contributing to Costa Rica’s goal of being a zero-carbon economy by 2050.

The EV Charging Station will allow recharge up to six cars simultaneously with three semi-fast chargers of 7 kilowatts, in a period no longer than eight hours for a full charge of a new-gen vehicle, and four hours for Gen-1 small cars.

Electric mobility is the latest effort of the business center to reduce its carbon emissions, in addition to 600 kilowatts of solar energy to feed eight buildings and a parking lot through more than 2,000 solar panels.

On the other hand, Costa Rica is the Latin American leader of EV Charging Stations per inhabitant, with nearly 140 spots for 5 million people.

The country hopes to transform 60% of the total fleet of light vehicles into electric by 2050. AFZ sets the example with its fleet of six electric vehicles, including security patrols and minivans.

Further projects include a bicycle parking lot, an Eolic tower, and batteries to power our transport, allowing us to save the environment 10 tons of carbon dioxide per year in terms of cuts of fossil fuels.

In addition, we received an extension of the Carbon Neutrality certificate until February 2022, reaffirming our commitment to being the first business campus in Costa Rica to have obtained this recognition.
